Muthukuda is a traditional decorative umbrella that reflects the rich cultural heritage. It is used in Royal and temple processions sited upon the back of the elephant. This is used for the Kudamattam ritual in Thrissur pooram. The Kudamattam Ritual is one of the main attractions of the festival and devotees and spectators from all parts of the world throng to the pooram to see the caparisoned elephants and their handlers perform.
